Install

Put Rooted on your phone

Rooted works like an app on your phone: an icon on your home screen, full screen with no browser bars, and one tap away when a craving hits. There is no app store download, it takes up almost no space, and it updates itself.

Android phones (Chrome)

  1. 1Open www.rootedhabits.app in Chrome on your phone.
  2. 2Tap the menu in the top-right corner.
  3. 3Tap Add to home screen. On some phones it says Install app.
  4. 4Tap Install. Rooted appears on your home screen and in your app list.

If Chrome shows an Install banner, or you see the Install Rooted button above, you can tap that instead.

Samsung phones (Samsung Internet)

  1. 1Open www.rootedhabits.app in Samsung Internet.
  2. 2Tap the menu at the bottom right.
  3. 3Tap Add page to, then Home screen. Some versions show an install icon in the address bar instead.
  4. 4Tap Add.

iPhone and iPad (Safari)

  1. 1Open www.rootedhabits.app in Safari.
  2. 2Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (at the top on iPad).
  3. 3Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. 4Tap Add in the top-right corner.

Questions

Do I need to sign in again?

You may need to sign in once inside the installed app. After that it remembers you, and your entries are the same on every device.

I can’t find “Add to home screen”.

Make sure the site is open in Chrome itself, not inside another app such as Facebook or Gmail. In that app’s menu, choose “Open in Chrome” first, then follow the steps.

How do I remove it?

Press and hold the Rooted icon, then tap Uninstall or Remove. Your account and entries are not deleted.
